Vacation Pics-Orange Beach, Alabama, The Gulf Restaurant

It’s been awhile since I blogged.  Life has been hectic and busy and the photography business has taken a backseat to being a mom.  But my love of photography began out of a love for capturing memories for my family, so that continues.  I t is important to me to document both the special and everyday moments, so we can look back on them as a family.  My kids already adore looking at our photo albums and I know those photos will become more special as time goes on and things change more.  I am going to share some of our vacation and spring family photos here on the blog, just to keep myself inspired and keep the content on the blog fresh and up to date.  Plus, I find that when looking at other photographers’ blogs, some of my favorite posts are when they share their personal family photos and I love looking at their vacation photos.  When you’ve been doing photography for awhile, and you vacation in the same spots more than once, sometimes it’s difficult to think of new and interesting images to capture.

We vacation in Orange Beach, Alabama each year.  It is a great beach spot for families and a shorter drive than a lot of beach spots.  Over the past few years a lot of great businesses have come to the area.  This year we were really excited to try out this new restaurant.  I saw a feature on it in my favorite magazine, Southern Living 🙂  It looked pretty kid friendly with all the outdoor seating and I am pretty much a stickler for eating outside whenever the weather permits and especially at the beach, so this was right up our alley.  We really loved it, the ambiance was great and the food was really, really good too.  The baby really thought it was yummy.  One of my favorite pics is of him trying to steal a fry off his daddy’s plate.  The Gulf is just a really cool beachfront restaurant.  They have all these amazing lounge chairs, couches and firepits on the beach, and then a grassy area with tables.  The restaurant itself is actually made out of recycled shipping containers.  How cool is that?  Check it out this summer if you are in the area.

let me tell your story...

Every morning the sun rises and sets the stage for another chapter in the story of our lives. These days overflow with adventures and fairy tales. Our heroic little boys battle villains while our princesses prepare yet another table for tea.

As the sun sets, the day’s minutes fade into memories and another page turns. If only we could stop the clock. Bottle up the days of dragons, castles, tea times and Pegasus and preserve them for the generations to come.
